This notice is in accordance with the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Legend Suspensions has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain remote reservoir mounting brackets that were included with the kits sold below.
The affected product details are as follows:
Date of Manufacture:Â June 18, 2019, through March 1, 2022
Product Model Numbers:
The reason for this recall is cracks developing in the shock remote reservoir mounting brackets, which could allow the reservoir to fall from the vehicle. If the reservoir falls from the vehicle, this could result in motorcycle damage and/or cause instability of the motorcycle, increasing the risk of a crash. If a reservoir falls and the fluid-supply hose is disconnected, the reservoir could be left in the roadway, creating a potential debris hazard for other motorists.Â
To identify if you have the brackets in question, please observe the picture to the left. The remote reservoir location for the shock absorber is highlighted by the red circle. You will need to look at the bracket holding this piece on the motorcycle.Â
If the bracket kit shown below in the RIGHT-HAND picture matches those on your vehicle, we request that you please contact service@legendsuspensions.com to obtain a replacement kit at no charge. Kits are currently available. Removal of the affected kit and installation of the replacement kit should take about 1 hour. If you have any difficulty with removal or installation, please contact service@legendsuspensions.com.Â
Pursuant to NHTSA regulations, if you paid to have this condition remedied prior to this recall notification, you may be eligible for reimbursement for the amount you paid for that work. Please contact service@legendsuspensions.com. You will be asked to submit a copy of all documentation supporting your claim.
If you have the billet style mount shown in the LEFT-HAND picture below you already have the updated billet aluminum mount and can disregard this notice. If you are unsure whether your kit is affected, please contact service@legendsuspensions.com
